Descripción de Branded vs. unbranded, oscilloscope race - Part 1: Time domain:
You don't like patented medicine but prefer Wal-Mart Equate drugs of the same formulas, right? I don't like expensive branded instruments, such as Tektronix oscilloscopes. This summer, I bought a cheap one back from China. I got a Shan-zhai (meaning "copy cat" in Chinese slang) one for less than $500. The equivalent Tektronix one costs $1200 in the States. This video compares their performance in time domain. The next one will compare their performance on frequency domain. The one of monochrome display is the famous Tektronix TDS210 oscilloscope while the color displayed one is a Chinese oscilloscope of the brand Uni-T. As you can see, the Chinese Shan-Zhai one has a big problem, the curve of a periodic signal is not steady. It swings along the time axes. But it is not a bad deal for doing electrical engineering at home.
