Southampton (Reino Unido), 1 may (EFE).-La naviera Royal Caribbean International inauguró el barco de cruceros más grande del mundo, el Independence of the Seas, en el puerto de la ciudad inglesa de Southampton. El barco hace historia ya que tiene capacidad para 3,634 pasajeros en doble ocupación y dispone de un gran abanico de posibilidades por sus numerosas instalaciones. El Independence of the Seas es el primer buque de estas características que recorrerá aguas europeas durante toda la temporada estival, haciendo escala en puertos españoles, como en las Islas Canarias, Vigo, Barcelona y Málaga, entre otros puertos de europa. El barco ofrece exposiciones de artistas británicos, espectáculos de baile y patinaje sobre hielo, centro de fitness, Spa, Solarium, parque acuático, simulador de surf, ring de boxeo, jacuzzis colgantes, entre otras instalaciones. Este barco es el tercero de la compañía, que junto al Freedom of the Seas y el Liberty of the Seas, forman los tres barcos más grandes del mundo. EFE TV-MADRID-12:15 GMT.
